VERIS: THE BRAND BORN FROM A VIRTUOUS SYNERGY IN PLASTIC RECYCLING
VERIS was created in 2024 through a partnership between the VERITAS Group, the main Venetian public utility in waste management, and SIR, a leader in plastic recycling. The goal is to establish an integrated and certified supply chain capable of transforming post-consumer waste into high-quality plastic compounds.
The name VERIS is an acronym combining “VE” (from Veritas) and “RIS” (reverse anagram of SIR). A wordplay rich in meaning, which also recalls the Latin “Veris”—springtime—a symbol of rebirth and regenerative synergy between advanced expertise and cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, VERIS is a tribute to Venice, where Veritas operates, and to its centuries-old beauty and uniqueness, safeguarded through responsible waste collection and recycling practices. The brand logo merges the colors of the two companies, visually expressing the union of two leading players in the circular economy committed to protecting the territory and the planet.
VERIS-branded products, made from post-consumer plastic waste, take shape as recycled compounds thanks to technologically advanced and sustainability-driven processes.
The supply chain includes a sorting line, where polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) are separated from other polymers that are unsuitable for SIR compounds, and a production line, designed to separately treat rigid plastics and film plastics, producing end-of-waste material (secondary raw materials, i.e., materials that have ceased to be classified as waste) in the form of flakes or agglomerate.
