At SIR, the production of recycled plastic compounds is a highly customized process, designed to meet the specific needs of each client. Our research activity goes beyond prototyping standard products: it focuses mainly on creating blends of recycled plastics that can effectively replace virgin raw materials while enhancing performance.

A large part of our work involves preparing custom compounds made from polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, and ABS, capable of meeting the demands of different application sectors: from storage to automotive, from office and garden furniture to industrial components. The mission of our plastic recycling processes is clear: to contribute concretely to sustainability by minimizing the use of virgin plastics in favor of ecological, effective, and high-performance solutions tailored to every need.

Quality Control: An Integral Part of R&D in Plastic Recycling

As the applications of green plastics expand in everyday life, the quality of these materials must also be enhanced. For this reason, we thoroughly test both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products.

In the inbound lab, secondary raw materials are analyzed in detail to verify their mechanical properties, color consistency, and appearance, ensuring they meet the highest standards and have all the potential for optimal customization.

In the outbound lab, rigorous tests validate products intended for the market, including those outside standardized specifications, since most of our solutions are tailor-made. This customized approach enables us to respond to the unique needs of our clients, developing innovative solutions that go beyond conventional formulations and perfectly match their requirements.
